I am a senior at the University of New Haven working towards a degree in interior design. Growing up as a ballet dancer with a love for art and a passion for rearranging my bedroom as many times as possible, my journey towards interior design came naturally. There is so much creative opportunity in the field that allows me to transform a space to be functional, while achieving a sense of place and interest that is unique to the client. Being involved in ASID has enabled me to meet classmates that share the same passion for design, and challenged me to strengthen my networking skills by connecting with professionals. My involvement with ASID as a student has elevated my potential as a future design professional early on. I am very excited to serve this next term as not only student representative to the board under such accomplished designers, but also as president-elect to the student chapter of ASID at the University of New Haven. I hope to engage as many design students to be active with ASID as I can, so that they are exposed to the real-world experience that ASID offers, and so that we may all connect as emerging professionals together.
