Where do I fit in?

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Professional Members continue to develop their knowledge and network in the highest level of ASID membership. They have completed a course of accredited education and equivalent work experience in interior design, and have successfully passed the NCIDQ examination.

ALLIED MEMBERSHIP
Allied Members receive the resources of a professional society as they develop their interior design career. Eligible individuals are practicing interior designers who have completed 40 semester or 60 quarter credit hours in interior design education from an accredited institution (university, college or technical school). Continuing education coursework/hours do not count toward meeting the education requirement for membership.

ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP
Eligible individuals are practicing interior designers who can demonstrate six years of full time interior design experience and provide a college transcript reflecting a minimum of an associate’s degree in a subject other than interior design.

Student & Educator Memberships:

EDUCATOR MEMBERSHIP
This level is for educators who are actively engaged as department chairs or full-time instructors in a post-secondary program of interior design education at any university or accredited school of interior design that requires completion of 40 semester credit hours in interior design-related courses, and who have successfully passed the NCIDQ exam.

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP
Student Members prepare for their career by joining the ASID network. Specifically for interior design students enrolled in an interior design or architecture program that requires at least 40 credit hours or 60 quarter credit hours of interior design coursework to graduate. Students at schools where an ASID student chapter exists may join as a student chapter member; students at other schools may join as an independent student member.

STUDENT ADVANCEMENT (to Allied Membership)
ASID hopes your student membership has helped you forge a personal network of professional contacts that will help you advance your career. It’s time to build on that solid foundation of support, values and resources and advance to allied membership.

Industry Partner Membership:
